Memorial Day service to be held at Woodlawn Cemetery
The Ream-McElroy Post 9381 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and Foss-Agin-Meyer Post 185 of the American Legion will co-sponsor a Memorial Day service on May 30, 2022.
Ceremonies will begin at 1:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ada, 5134 State Route 235.
The program will include:
- Welcome by VFW Commander Brian Clum
- Invocation by VFW Chaplain Allen Conley
- Posting of Colors by VFW Color Guard
- Pledge of Allegiance
- National Anthem by the Ada High School Band, under the direction of Jacob Austrino
- Gettysburg Address by Abraham Decker of USV, Buckeye Boys State representative
- In Flanders Field by Amelia Alexander of Ada, Buckeye Girls State representative
- Decoration of Veterans' Memorials by the VFW Auxiliary
- God Bless the U.S.A. by the Ada High School Band
- Address by guest speaker Colonel (Ret.) Barrb Herrington-Clemens
- 21-Gun Salute by the VFW Color Guary
- Taps by Mathew Frazier
- Boy Scout Troop 124 will also be part of the ceremonies.
Following this service at Woodlawn, a short service will be held at Preston Cemetery in Alger.
