Failure to yield accident on SR 81 resulted in no apparent injuries
On June 9, 2022 at 4:32 p.m. a motor vehicle accident occured at the intersection of State Route 81 and County Road 15. A 2014 Ford Truck driven by Steven Cope of Bellefontaine was traveling northbound on County Road 15 while a 2010 Ford being driven by Derek Burkhart of Alger was traveling westbound on State Route 81.
The Cope vehicle failed to yield at the stop sign and entered the intersection striking the Burkhart vehicle. Both drivers were the only occupants and suffered no apparent injuries on scene. Mr. Cope was cited for failure to yield the right of way. Assisting the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office at the scene were Ada Police Department, Ada-Liberty Fire District, Ada-Liberty EMS and Minnich’s Towing.
