Glenda Lee Hunsicker worked for Sodexho at ONU
Glenda Lee Hunsicker, age 83, of Alger, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2022, at 1:00 a.m. at Vancrest of Ada, surrounded by her family.
She was born on June 28, 1939, in Alger, Ohio to the late Dwight and Hester (Gant) Marshall. On March 29, 1958, Glenda married Harvey Hunsicker, Jr. and they were happily married for 56 years. He preceded her in death on December 11, 2014.
Glenda is survived by her four sons: Mike (Tami) Hunsicker of Alger, Steve (Annette) Hunsicker of Michigan Center, MI, Dave (Cindy) Hunsicker of Alger and Duane (Melannie) Hunsicker of Belle Center; eight grandchildren: Travis (Jessica Lawrence) Hunsicker, Troy (Brandi) Hunsicker, Jason (Barbie Hopson) Hunsicker, Chad Hunsicker, Jason Morris, Morgan (Chase) Kaylor, Dylan (Jackie) Hunsicker and Haley Hunsicker; twelve great grandchildren and one on the way; one great-great grandchild; sister, Judy Pinks of Ada; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Hunsicker of Smyrna, TN, and Marsha Neff of Lima; and special friends: Ruth Nichols and Cindy Cook.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Jeremy Hunsicker.
Glenda retired from Sodexo at Ohio Northern University, Ada, where she worked in the Catering Department. Glenda and her husband, Harvey were the former owners and operators of Hunsicker Video, Alger for ten years. She formerly worked for Wilson Sporting Goods, Ada. Glenda was a 1957 Graduate of Alger High School. She was a member of the Abundant Life Assembly of God Church, Kenton. She was a member of the Kenton Moose Lodge #428. Glenda was an avid USV sports enthusiast (the only unkind words she ever spoke were to the referees). She was a huge John Wayne fan and loved Westerns. She loved her sons and grandchildren dearly, and Glenda never missed any of their activities they were involved in.
It was Glenda’s wish to be cremated. Visitation will begin on Friday, August 5, 2022, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Alger.
A graveside service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at Preston Cemetery, Alger with Rev. James Goldsmith officiating.
