Harold E. Compton was a U.S. Army veteran
Harold E. Compton, age 82, of Belle Center, passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at the Blanchard Place in Kenton.
He was born on January 25, 1940, in Alger, Ohio to the late Bruce E. and Flossie M. (Wooley) Compton. In March of 1962 Harold married Joyce L. Thompson and she preceded him in death on September 10, 2014.
Harold is survived by a son, Shaun (Cindy) Compton of Roundhead; two daughters: Lori (James) Goldsmith of Kenton, and Beth (David) Kretz of Beavercreek; ten grandchildren, and several great grandchildren; and two sisters: Helen Louise McDaniel of Florida, and Joyce Shirk of Indian Lake.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Janice Compton.
Harold retired from Teledyne/Ohio Steel, and he worked for the physical plant at Ohio Northern University, Ada. Harold was a U.S. Army Veteran who served as a member of the 287 MP Division in Berlin, Germany. He was a member of the Roundhead VFW Post #8832. Harold was an avid U.S.V. Rams fan.
Funeral services will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Alger with Rev. James Goldsmith officiating. Burial will be in Roundhead Cemetery, Roundhead with graveside military honors conducted by the U.S. Army Honor Guard and the Ada VFW Post #9381 Honor Guard.
Visitation will be two hours prior to the service from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at the Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Alger.
