FROM THE BEATITUDES WEBSITE
First and foremost Beatitudes strives to give a community to those who feel alone in the area.   We are a place where anyone can come, hang out, have a cup of coffee or a cold drink, and enjoy the fellowship of others.  Much of our programing is geared toward providing opportunities for everyone to interact socially with others.

Secondly, we want to make sure that everyone is able to meet basic human needs such as food and shelter.  We serve a hot meal five days a week.  We offer assistance with utility bills and rent to those going through hardship when we are able.  We set up referrals and assist people in connecting with other agencies when their needs are greater than we can fulfill.

We also offer several smaller programs throughout the area.  During the summer we offer a separate meal program in the park to help families whose children would have been on free and reduced lunch throughout the school year.  We host a Children’s Christmas Shopping Spree where area children are invited into the store one evening to “shop” for gifts for mom, dad, and any brothers and sisters they have.  We hold a community Thanksgiving Feast every year, open to anyone.  We give away school supplies to area school children, as well as providing clothing at an extremely reduced price late in the summer to help families get their children ready for school.

All these services are provided free of charge.  We fund ourselves through a combination of our small thrift store, private donation, and grant monies.  We depend on community support to continue carrying out our mission.
