Bulldog boys down AE soccer; girls game postponed

The Ada High School boys soccer team defeated visiting backyard rival Allen East 5-1 in the Northwest Conference opener on a muggy and eventually rainy Monday evening, August 29, at War Memorial Park Stadium.
The Bulldogs improved to 4-0-1 overall and 1-0 in the NWC with the win. The contest was called with 5:20 remaining to play due to the bad weather conditions.
AE fell to 0-1 overall and 0-1 in the NWC with the defeat.
Ada jumped to a 2-0 early in the first half and never trailed.
"This is where we had to start if we wanted to get a shot at the NWC (title)," said Ada head Jason Okuly. "The boys played hard and showed me they are ready to play.
"The road started here," he added.
Senior Carter Conley scored two goals and dished out one assist to pace Ada. Brendan Jameson and Carson Gossard both tallied a goal.
Jaden Leal netted a goal on a penalty kick.
Midfield distributor Nathan Williams passed out a pair of assist.
Colton Long was credited with nine saves in goal.
Ada hosts Miller City in their sixth consecutive home match Wednesday, August 31 at 7 p.m.

The Ada girls soccer home match vs. local rival Allen East in the Northwest Conference opener Monday night was postponed due to inclement weather.
No makeup date has been set yet.
The Lady Bulldogs are 3-0 overall and 0-0 in NWC play. Ada has outscored its opposition 17-4 thus far this season.
Ada (2-0 road) plays at Marion Harding Thursday, September 1 at 5 p.m.
