Bulldogs open with volleyball sweeps

The Ada High School volleyball team served up two convincing victories away from home Saturday to start their season on a high note.
The Bulldogs first defeated Waynesfield-Goshen 25-14, 25-11 in a neutral-site match.
Junior setter Autumn Andreasen dished out 17 assists and served three aces to ignite the victorious offense.
Sophomore Lily Baumgartner knocked down six kills, made four digs and served three aces. Senior Emilee Huffer contributed three digs and one block.
Junior Daicy Robinson smashed three kills and came up with three digs.
Freshman Anna Conley added a block and three digs.
Ada then stung match host Cory-Rawson 25-13, 25-7.
Senior libero Courtney Sumner mustered up 12 digs, dealt three aces and added two kills against the Hornets. Andreasen doled out a dozen assists, served four aces and added three kills.
Robinson topped the hitters with four kills, while Baumgartner again knocked down three kills.
Ada (2-0) hosts county rival Kenton Tuesday, August 23 in the home opener.
The Bulldog girls then visit MAC power Coldwater Thursday, Aug. 25.
