AHS boys soccer knots Lincolnview

The Ada High School boys soccer team led most of the game but ended up in a 1-1 tie against visiting Lincolnview Monday evening, September 19, in Northwest Conference action under the lights at War Memorial Park Stadium.
The Bulldog record moves to 4-2-3 overall and 1-0-1 in NWC play with the tie. Lincolnview ran its mark to 3-4-1 and 1-1-1 in the NWC with the result.
Bulldog Carson Gossard scored with 31:25 left in the first half on a Logan Jolliff assist to give the hosts a 1-0 lead.
Lincolnview had several good scoring chances in the opening half, but the Ada defense kept them off the scoreboard.
Ada put a shot off the crossbar with 2:09 left in the opening half.
Carter Conley blocked a Lancer shot with 25:35 remaining. Just 35 seconds later, Gossard's header was saved by sophomore Lancer keeper Mason Waltmire.
A shot by Bulldog speedster Jolliff sailed just wide at the 14-minute mark.
Ada keeper Colton Long made a save at the 17:46 mark. Long then made a sliding save with 10:18 left.
A long Bulldog shot from the right side was just off target at nine minutes.
Ada cleared a Lancer corner kick out with 7:24 to play. A Lancer direct kick went over the goal at the five-minute mark. Corbin Evans then lifted an off-balance shot hooking right to left from 17 yards out that sailed into the upper left corner of the goal past a lunging Long to tie it 1-1 with just 4:19 left to play.
Lincolnview had a left corner kick with 1:40 remaining, but the shot off the pass went well high to keep the score tied.
Long made eight saves in goal for Ada.
Ada (0-2 NCOSA) hosts Upper Sandusky (1-6, 0-2 NCOSA) Thursday, September 22 in a North Central Ohio Soccer Association match at 7:00 p.m.
