Letter: Ada First United Methodist Church affiliation town meeting
CLARIFICATION: Please note that these meetings are intended for the congregation of Ada First United Methodist Church and is strictly related to matters within the United Methodist Church. This is not a community forum.
Dear Members and Friends,
For many years now, we as United Methodists have been navigating our theological differences on human sexuality, Biblical interpretation, and church polity and seeking to discern a path forward. As you probably know, conversations have been taking place at the denominational level and local church level around remaining UMC or disaffiliating from the UM Church. I will be hosting a Town Hall meeting on Sept. 25th at 11:15am for our congregation to discuss what our denomination is facing and to answer any questions you may have. Also, an alternative date of Sept. 27th at 7pm will be offered (this will be the same information, just a second date option).
There will also be an opportunity for you to submit written questions when you arrive for the meeting or you can email them to Pastor Brandi at [email protected]
.
In addition, Bishop Palmer will be holding a “Committed, Connected, Community” event at St. Andrew’s UMC in Findlay on Thursday, Sept. 29th at 7pm. All laity and clergy are invited to attend.
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
Thank you,
Pastor Brandi Grant-Rigsby
