Velma I. Piehl was a manager at Red Fox Inn
Velma I. Piehl, age 88, of Cridersville, passed away on Monday, September 19, 2022, at Lima Memorial Health System.
She was born on April 28, 1934, in Lima, Ohio to the late Garner “Bud” and Evelyn (Losey) Winegardner. Velma married Arthur Spencer and he preceded her in death. She then married Arlie Piehl in 1998 and he survives.
Also surviving is a son, Tony (Retta) Spencer of Alger; two daughters: Trudy (Brian) Adams of Columbia, SC and Teresa (Kevin) Joseph of Harrod; three stepchildren: Dennis (Susan) Piehl, Dorothy Piehl, and Linda (Pat) McGarry; nineteen grandchildren: Randy and Jess, Matt and April, Vicki and Jordan, Jacki and Adam, Lyndsy and Bobby, Dustin and Becki, Jen and Michelle, Brad and Kate, Sarah, Ryan and Elizabeth, Haley, Jeromy and Janel, Scott and Gloria, Emily, Chastity, Adam, Eli, Amanda, and Lexi; several great grandchildren; and a brother, Wally Winegardner of Harrod.
Velma was preceded in death by her stepson, Bobby Piehl, and step-grandson, Jacob Piehl.
Velma formerly worked as a manager of the Red Fox Inn, in Home Health Care, and as a bank teller. She was a member of the Harrod Christian Church. Family was everything to her.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 23, 2022, at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada with Pastor Gary Rummel officiating. Burial will be in Auglaize Cemetery, Westminster.
Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2022, at Hanson- Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
