AHS boys soccer celebrate Sr. Night with big win over Harding

By Cort Reynolds

The host Ada High School boys soccer team blanked winless Marion Harding 5-0 on a cool Thursday night under the lights at War Memorial Park Stadium to strongly commemorate Senior Night on October 13.

The Bulldogs improved to 7-6-4 following the non-conference victory. MH fell to 0-14 with the loss.

Five of the six Ada seniors scored goals in their final regular season home game.

Seniors Brendan Jameson and Jaden Leal scored early for Ada. Senior Dillon Hartman also netted a penalty kick goal to give the Bulldogs a 3-0 bulge after the first 15 minutes of play.

The score stayed 3-0 to intermission.

In the second half, Ada senior Carter Conley booted a long shot from the right corner that settled into the lower left corner of the net with 28:23 remaining to play.

At the 18:32 mark, Bulldog senior Ethan Murphy found the back of the net to extend the lead to 5-0.

The Bulldogs had good scoring opportunities at the nine and 10-minute marks, but barely missed. The MH keeper had to make a leaping save off a shot headed toward the top of the goal with 2:58 left.

Keeper Colton Long and the Ada defense recorded the shutout.

The Bulldogs improved to 5-1-3 at home with the decisive win.

Ada plays at Van Buren (6-5-5) in sectional first round play Wednesday evening, October 19. The Bulldogs and Black Knights played to a 1-1 tie at VB October 6.

VB tied perennial power Ottawa Hills 1-1 Thursday.
