Women's Golf at Berry Invitational
ROME, Ga. — The Ohio Northern women's golf team broke its 36-hole school record by a full 18 strokes and finished third of 12 teams at the Berry (Ga.) Chik-Fil-A Invitational Monday and Tuesday at the Coosa Country Club.
The Polar Bears (42-3 overall) carded a 310-311—621, which is 18 shots better than the previous record of 639 set twice in 2021.
Northern also posted the two lowest 18-hole scores in school history. Monday's first round of 310 was four shots better than the previous record of 314 set at the Capital Classic on Sept. 11, 2021.
Men's Golf at Berry Invitational
ROME, Ga.—The Ohio Northern men's golf team moved up two spots in the final round to finish ninth of 14 teams at the Berry (Ga.) Chik-Fil-A Invitational on Monday and Tuesday at the Stonebridge Golf Club.
The Polar Bears (18-23 overall) followed up a first round 315 with a second round 306 to finish with a season-low 621. ONU passed Shorter (Ga.) and Huntingdon (Ala.) and broke its first round tie with Covenant (Ga.) in the final round on Tuesday.
Women's Soccer vs. Baldwin Wallace
ADA—Junior Bri Straus (Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern) scored a pair of goals to lead the Ohio Northern women's soccer team to a 2-0 win over Baldwin Wallace on Wednesday night at Kerscher Stadium.
Straus' goals were the first of her career.
The Polar Bears improve to 11-1-4 overall and 6-0-2 in the Ohio Athletic Conference while the Yellow Jackets fall to 9-8-0, 4-4-0.
Men's Soccer vs. Baldwin Wallace
BEREA—The No. 13 Ohio Northern men's soccer team pushed its winning streak to six games on Wednesday night, topping Baldwin Wallace 5-1 at Tressel Field at George Finnie Stadium.
The Polar Bears (12-2-3 overall, 7-0-1 OAC) extended their current unbeaten streak to 14 games and remain atop the Ohio Athletic Conference standings. With the win, they also clinch a first-round bye and a home semifinal match in next week's OAC tournament.
