Youth Wrestling Club holding sign ups at park building
The Ada Youth Wrestling Club has announced sign ups will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Ada Park Building (located at the front of the park before the football stadium in the brown brick building) on:
- Thursday, October 20
- Tuesday, October 25
- Wednesday, October 26
This will be for children in Kindergarten through 6th grade (ages 5-12 year olds). All experience levels, from beginner to advanced, are welcome to participate.
The club accepts boys and girls from Ada and all surrounding communities. The club is a member of the Miami Valley Kids Wrestling Association (MVKWA) based in Dayton, Ohio. The MVKWA has more than 70 clubs that participate in weekly local tournaments from December through February.
Organizers note, "Our goal is to teach your child how to wrestle and compete safely while practicing sportsmanship. Each child will be taught the basic techniques and skills needed to be competitive at their skill level. As your child’s skill level advances, so will the level of training he or she will receive. We will monitor each child during the season and provide individual attention with our experienced coaching staff.
"This season we have hopes of more participants and community support to help guide our youth. Our area has many successful wrestling programs and we are proud to be a part of that group!"
Call Director/Head Coach John McClain at (567-371-2953) if you have any questions or can’t make signups.
