ONU to add bowling as varsity sport, partner with Norada Lanes
By Tim Glon
Ohio Northern will add men's and women's bowling as varsity sports for the 2023-24 season.
The Polar Bear squads will be based out of Norada Lanes in Ada and have requested membership in the Ohio Bowling Conference.
"We are excited to start men's and women's bowling at Ohio Northern," ONU director of athletics Tom Simmons said. "Bowling is very well represented in Ohio high school athletics and we believe this is a great fit. We are also grateful to partner with Norada Lanes and the Wolber family. They have been very helpful in this process. It is great that our bowlers have a place to call home in the Ada community."
The addition of men's and women's bowling will bring the total of varsity sports at Ohio Northern to 26.
ONU hopes to have squad sizes of 20 men and 20 women.
