The Ada Schools winter concert featured many bands and choirs on Monday evening in the school auditorium. It was SRO in the auditorium with the overflow crowd of family and friends waiting in the cafeteria until their student was on stage.
Here, the fifth grade band leads off the concert with "Old King Wenceslas," "Jolly Old St. Nicholas," and "Jingle Bells."
The 5th, 6th, 7/8th and High School Bands performed, as well as 6th, 7/8th, Concert Choir, and Varsity Singers.
PAULDING - The Ada girls basketball team tipped off the road portion of its Northwest Conference slate with a 64-49 defeat at Paulding on a frigid Thursday night.
The Lady Bulldogs fell to 1-3 and 0-2 in league play following their third consecutive loss. Meanwhile, the Panthers improved to 1-5 overall and 1-0 in the NWC with their first victory.
"We couldn't stop their big girls," said third-year Ada head coach Bill Taflinger. Brianna Townley of Paulding led all players with 21 points and 10 rebounds.
The Panthers outscored Ada by a combined total of 35-19 in the second and fourth periods to decide the outcome.

Ron Zimmerly, President and CEO of Liberty National Bank, presented a check to Darlene Foreman, Executive Director of the United Way of Hardin County, in the amount of $6,541.25 for 2017 pledges. The employees’ pledges have increased overall by 10% from the previous year. This week the United Way of Hardin County had reached 93 percent of its goal of $220,000. The retail division accounted for more than half of the $203,000 raised so far. The campaign continues.
