Sean Beck announces petition for mayoral candidacy

As you might have guessed by all of the hints and whisperings around town, I will be running for mayor of Ada in the 2023 election.

There’s a long path ahead of us before November--from collecting signatures and officially filing the petition to the actual campaign itself. My goal is to reach out to every voter in our village and share my story and plan.

Though I am still working hard on finalizing the exact details of my campaign, here are the three main pillars of what I’d like to accomplish as Ada’s next mayor.

Improve our existing infrastructure. While our roads are decent for the most part, our sidewalks are not nearly as nice. Making sure Ada can be a town where you can walk from one side to the other on all of our sidewalks is important, not just for our able-bodied residents but for those in the village with mobility difficulties and our families with strollers too.

Improve communication in the village. We can easily (and inexpensively) improve our messaging to the residents by utilizing the power of social media and our local media partners. Simply live-streaming our public meetings to platforms such as Facebook and YouTube would ensure the village's people know that we’re serious about being transparent and as clear as possible.

Build deeper community relationships. I will continue to expand our relationships with Ada schools; Ohio Northern; businesses in Ada; and our residents. There’s a lot that can be done. I will also reach out to other similar-sized communities in our area to share ideas and make the whole community even better.

It’s going to take hard work, but I’m excited to continue working for the residents of our Village. Let’s do the good work, together!
