Betty Joy White Morris worked for General Motors Acceptance Corp.
Betty Joy White Morris, age 93, formerly of Owensboro, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, January 9, 2023, at Vancrest of Ada.
She was the fourth daughter of ten children born to the late Archie and Helen (Cambron) White, Adaburg, Kentucky on February 28, 1929. On April 15, 1980, Betty married Wendell Morris.
Betty graduated in 1946 from Ownsboro Technical High School. She served four years in the office of Murphy Miller Chair Co. and over thirty-seven years in the office of Owensboro, KY Branch of General Motors Acceptance Corp, retiring in 1987. Betty’s Christian faith was non-denominational and at the age of fifteen, she openly made a commitment to God, which she kept with joy until the end of her life.
She is survived by a stepdaughter, Maxine (Patrick) Cornish; two sisters: Kathryn (Al) Wade, and Gwenna Fitzgerald; nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces, and nephews; two cousins and many friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-one years, Wendell; two brothers: Archie Kenneth White and Edwin Royce White; five sisters: Nadine Morris, Elois Anderson, Ravenell Midkiff, Opal Nothdruft, and Paula Ingram.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada. Interment will be at a later date in Rose Hill Cemetery, 1300 Old Hartford Road, Owensboro, Kentucky 42303.
Friends and family will be received one hour prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 12 at the funeral home in Ada.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
