The Hardin County Board of Elections has announced that the filing deadline for partisan candidates and local questions and issues for the May 2, 2023 Primary Election, including local option petitions, is February 1, 2023. 

Petitions must be filed at the Hardin County Board of Elections by 4:00 p.m. A State of Ohio candidate requirement guide can be found HERE.

The Board of Elections website includes a full calendar of deadlines for the Primary Election on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 and General Election on 2023 Tuesday, November 7, 2023. 

Village of Ada, Ada Exempted Village Schools and Liberty Township election information is listed below.

VILLAGE OF ADA
The Village of Ada will have the following seats on the general election ballot:

• Mayor
• Council (2)

Party candidates must file by February 1, 2023 (90 days before the Primary Election). No party candidates must file by May 1, 2023 (1 day prior to Primary Election).

A primary will only take place if enough candidates from either party file, requiring a runoff.

Village of Ada elected officials with terms expiring on December 31, 2023 are:

Mayor David Allen Retterer - Republican

Council Member Sheila M Coressel - Democrat

Council Member Linda R Mason - Republican 

BOARD OF EDUCATION
The Ada Exempted Village Schools Board of Education will have three (3) non-partisan seats on the general election ballot. 

Bluffton School board members with terms expiring on December 31, 2023 are:

Amy Kathleen Mullins

Steven W. Ramey *Appointed*

ADA ISSUES
As of January 24, no issues had been filed for voting precincts in the Village of Ada. 

LIBERTY TOWNSHIP
Liberty Township will have two (2) seats on the ballot, one for fiscal officer and one for trustee.

Treasurer with term expiring on March 31, 2024 is Patricia A. Griffin.

Trustee with term expiring on December 31, 2023 is Jeffrey A. Acheson.

WRITE-IN CANDIDATES
Primary Election Deadline for write-in candidates is February 21, 2023 (72 days before the Primary Election if there is one). General Election Deadline for write-in candidates is August 28, 2023 (72 days before the General Election).
