Bulldog tennis loses to Marion Harding
By Cort Reynolds
The Ada High School tennis team lost 4-1 to visiting Marion Harding Monday evening, April 10, at the War Memorial Park courts.
The Bulldogs dropped to 0-2 with the defeat, while MH improved to 4-1 with the win.
Bulldog senior Brendan Jameson posted the lone Ada win convincingly at first singles.
He used his fine retrieving skills and groundstroking, plus a solid serve to win handily 6-2, 6-3.
“Brendan is starting to really find his groove,” said Ada head coach Tyler Christoff. “He’s playing very established and smart. I am proud of the way he is handling himself. He is not too high on his horse, and is willing to continue working to get where he wants.”
Ada sophomore Nathan Williams lost at second singles, as did senior Geddes Klingler at third singles. Ada also lost its two doubles matches in straight sets.
Bulldogs Luke Archer and Justin Bowden competed at first doubles, while Mohamed Khalil and Sam Crawford played second doubles.
Ada plays at Bryan Thursday, then visits Elida (2-1) next Monday, April 17.
