Carland Leroy Watkins worked for Superior Coach
Carland Leroy Watkins, age 82, of Ada, passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at 8:25 a.m. at his daughter’s residence in Canal Fulton, surrounded by his family.
He was born on February 20, 1941, in Alger, Ohio to the late Ralph and Beatrice (Hunneman) Watkins. On April 11, 1959, Leroy married Betty M. Newland who preceded him in death on April 14, 2015.
Leroy is survived by his two daughters: Kim (Harold Garrett) Nagy of Canal Fulton and Vicky (Jim) Mullins of Alger; four grandchildren: Chasity Leonard, Terra (Tyler) Diepenbrock, Paige (Brent) Fisher, and Breann (Jake) Spencer; nine great grandchildren; two brothers: Richard “Dick” Watkins, Sr. of Ada and Ralph (Kathy) Watkins of Alger; and three sisters: Darlene Summa of Harrod, Judy (Robert) Howard of Lakeview and Teresa (Greg) Kindle of Kenton.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Kathy Lacher.
Leroy retired from Superior Coach. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and trap shooting. Leroy loved spending time with his family.
It was his wish to be cremated. Graveside services will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
