Sandra Decker was a secretary at Ohio Northern
Sandra S. “Sandy” Decker, age 67, of Alger, passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at 9:28 a.m. at Lima Memorial Health Systems.
She was born on October 6, 1955, in Lima, Ohio to Bernard N. and Lois M. (Johnson) Shaw. Her father preceded her in death on October 16, 2018, and her mother survives in Alger. On September 26, 1987, Sandra married Jimmy “JD” Decker, Jr. and he survives in Arlington.
Also surviving are her two daughters: Sarah (Shawn Grubb) Decker of Ada and Jessica (Michael Briley) Decker of Alger; a granddaughter, Syddaleigh Sioux Briley; two brothers: Terry (Sigrid) Shaw of Albuquerque, NM and Alan (Lisa) Shaw of Harrod; two sisters: Mary (Charles) Melvin of Carleton, MI and Cheryl Saunders of White River Junction, VT.
She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Wayne Saunders.
Sandy worked as a secretary at Ohio Northern University, Ada. She previously worked for Attorney Scott Barret’s Office. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America. Sandy was a mother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend but above all else Sandy was a grandmother. Her granddaughter, Syddaleigh was the light of her life, there is nothing that brought her more joy than being her Mamaw. Sandy also loved her grandpups.
It was her wish to be cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
