JAMPD programs on May 14-15
DIY NATURE--DANDELION SALVE
At 1:00 p.m. on Sunday May 14, the Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District will offer DIY Nature–Dandelion Salve at the Ottawa Metro Park, Miami Shelter, 2632 Ada Rd. Lima.
Learn about the dandelion and decide for yourself if it is a friend or foe. A short walk and time to create a hand cream for you to take home will be included. Please dress appropriately for the weather. Register by May 12 by calling 419-221-1232 or go to www.jampd.com/
BIG BIRDING DAY
On Mon., May 15 the Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District partnering with the Tri-Moraine Audubon Society invites you to join them to visit some of the hottest birding locations in the World. A carpool will depart at 6:30 a.m. from the McElroy Environmental Education Center, 2355 Ada Rd. Lima.
This is peak migration for songbirds, and our birding trip will start with the boardwalk at Magee Marsh and potentially include the Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge driving tour, Howard Marsh, and more! Feel free to stay as long as you like. Appropriate clothing/footwear, binoculars, sun protection, lunch/snack/beverages, and field guides are recommended. Experienced and beginning birders are welcome.
