Memorial service scheduled for Joyce A. Balogh
Joyce A. Balogh, age 78, of Ada, passed away on Friday, May 26, 2023, at 2:20 AM at her residence in Ada, surrounded by her family.
She was born on May 22, 1945, in Orwell, Ohio to the late Milton and Marjorie (King) Phillips, Sr. On August 17, 1963, Joyce married Dale Kuhn and he preceded her in death on February 12, 1998. She later married Raymond Balogh on November 25, 2000, and he preceded her in death on April 21, 2018.
Joyce is survived by her six children: Michelle Kuldas of Dublin, Theresa (Bill) Brennan of Helena, Jennifer (Ray) Hadley of Ada, Sharon (Erik) Strite of Medford, OR, Linda (James) Tenney of Fayette, IA, and Adam Blackburn of Ft. Wayne, IN; two foster children: Roger Neff and Terry Phillips; twelve grandchildren and six great grandchildren; and a sister, Mavis Free of Mecca.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jon Kuhn; and three brothers: Milton Phillips, Jr., Darrell Phillips, and Merle Phillips.
Joyce was a member of the Ada Family Center and a former member of the Greene Community Church. She was a former volunteer firefighter and EMT for Greene Township in Trumbull County. Joyce was an avid gardener and quilter.
It was her wish to be cremated. A celebration of life will begin on Sunday, May 28, 2023, at Union Chapel Missionary Church, 4869 Ada Road, Lima, Ohio 45801. Family and friends are welcome to gather from 2:00-4:00 p.m. with a memorial service beginning at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Ray Hadley officiating.
