Obituary for Lorrene Waddle
Lorrene Waddle, age 88, of Roundhead, passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at 4:18 a.m. at her daughter’s home surrounded by her family.
She was born on November 26 ,1934, in Kentucky to the late Beecher and Katie Shepherd. On May 7, 1951, Lorrene married Ronald Waddle and he preceded her in death on August 8, 2006.
Lorrene is survived by her daughters: Rhonda Hollon of Lakeview and Lorinda (David) Sparks of Belle Center; nine grandchildren: Stephanie (Jim) McCoy, Amy (Todd) Book, Sarah (Beau) Wallace, Brent (Rachael) Jordan, Nate (Katie) Sparks, Matthew (Heather) Hollon, Timothy Hollon and Josh (Whitney Leigh) Smith; eight great grandchildren: Kylee, Isaac, J.T., Dylan, Devin, Ali, Finn, Lyrix, Maverick, Reese, Aubry, Braeden, Rylie, Avery, Drew, Reagan, Aiden and Ethan; three sisters: Lois May of Columbus, Brenda (Gene) Pitts of Maumee and Wanda (Bob) Bratton of Gibsonburg; a brother, Ed (Charlotte) Shepherd; and two sisters-in-law: Jean (David) Kah of Kenton and Sue Ross of Harrisburg, PA.
She was preceded in death by her son, Tom Waddle; two sons-in-law: Danny Hollon and Tom Jordan; three brothers: Jack Shepherd, Lowell Shepherd, Wayne Shepherd and two infant brothers, Michael and Reginald Shepherd; and three sisters: Lodena Joseph, Bonita and Barbara.
Lorrene leaves behind a legacy of service to the Lord, family and friends. She was a gifted writer and poet. Her words would draw you in making you feel that you were a part of the scenario. She always said the life she lived would speak for itself.
The family would like to thank Dr. Qin and his Oncology staff, along with the Lab Department at Lima Memorial Health System for the excellent care our mother received over the past year.
The following services were our mother’s wishes.
Public graveside services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 30, 2023 at Roundhead Cemetery, Roundhead.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 29, 2023 at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Alger.
