Janet L. Nagy was an artist and pastor
Janet Louise Nagy, age 79, of Piqua, passed away on Friday, August 25, 2023, at 12:18 a.m. at her residence, surrounded by her family.
She was born on April 28, 1944, in Bluffton, Ohio to the late Sidney and Cleora (Amstutz) Burkholder. Janet was previously married to Bobby R. Van Hoose and he preceded her in death. On October 27, 1997 Janet married Dennis J. Nagy, Sr. and he survives in Piqua.
Also surviving are her six children: Kenneth (Julie) Van Hoose of Pomeroy, Amy (David) Boutwell of Piqua, Joel (Gregory) Van Hoose of Piqua, Dennis (Lisa) Nagy of Maumee, Anthony Nagy of Kalida, and Christopher (Kim) Nagy of Midlothian, TX; thirteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; a brother, Roger Burkholder of McGuffey; and a sister, Mary Ellen Ludwig of Findlay.
She was preceded in death by three children: Daniel Van Hoose, Timothy Nagy, and Aaron Nagy; a brother, Frank “Bud” Burkholder; and sister, LaDonna Meyer.
Janet had a great love for people and making them happy. She was a very gifted artist and enjoyed life and traveling. She previously attended and co-pastored the Spirit of Life Church in Piqua.
Funeral Services will begin at 11: 00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada with Kenneth Van Hoose officiating. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.
Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 28, 2023 at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Ohio’s Hospice of Miami, 3230 North County Road 25A, Troy, Ohio 45373.
