Bulldog boys soccer loss to Van Buren

The Ada High School boys soccer team lost to visiting Van Buren 4-2 in a North Central Ohio Soccer Association match on a hot Wednesday night, October 4, at War Memorial Stadium.
The game was also Bulldog Senior Night and the “Pink Out” cancer cure match for Ada.
“Huge thanks out to everyone that came out to support us and donating to one of our soccer family mom’s fight against cancer,” said Ada head coach Jason Okuly.
“I am proud of all the guys for the hard work and determination, they will never give up,” he added.
The Bulldog records fell to 2-6-6 overall and 0-1-4 in NCOSA action after the defeat.
Van Buren improved to 9-6 overall and 5-1 in NCOSA action with the win.
VB got on the board first with a left-footed shot from about nine yards out at the 35:20 mark of half one.
Ada senior Carson Gossard scored off an assist by freshman Andrew Allen.
Junior Nathan Williams tallied the other Bulldog goal on a penalty kick.
Bulldog freshman keeper Jacob Rush came up with seven saves.
Seniors Gabe Blankenship, Colton Long, Gossard, Drew Long, Jesse Okuly, Brayden Hunsiker and Matthew Frazier, Clayton McClain and Mason Selover were recognized.
Ada visits struggling Lima Central Catholic (1-12) Monday, October 9 at 7:30 p.m. in a non-league match.
