ADA - The Bulldog varsity swim team has a new coach with a familiar face this winter in an Ada native.
Former Bulldog and Ohio Northern University swimmer Katey Stuart assumes the reins of the Ada swim program this season.
Stuart is a pharmacy major at ONU, and has finished her eligibility for the Polar Bear swim team. She will get coaching help from former Ada swimmer Zach Beaschler.
Due to the pandemic, for the first time in almost 20 years the team is unable to practice at the ONU natatorium. Instead, the squad has to practice at the Kenton YMCA.
Ada students will return to classroom learning on Monday, Dec. 7, in two different models. Those are explained in this story from the school website.
After several weeks of remote learning, the state, county, and our community are still experiencing a rise in the number of positive Covid cases and quarantines.
However, we feel that we need to safely get our students back in the building and with their teachers.
Our experience with contact tracing has shown that each positive student case has resulted in 10-20 quarantines each time.
