Stella M. Dyer, 84, died on Wednesday, May 27, 2020, at 1:52 a.m. at Lima Memorial Health System.

She was born on Dec. 4, 1935, in Breathitt County, Kentucky, to the late Noah and Martha (Hollon) Rowe.  On Dec. 7, 1953, Stella married Frank Dyer and he survives in Alger.

Stella was a homemaker. She was a member of the Quickstep Pentecostal Church of God, Alger. She loved her children and family more than anything in the world. She enjoyed going to Flea Markets with Vickie Jo.  She and Frank were avid travelers and she especially enjoyed taking special vacations with her sisters.

Proper hand hygiene is the number one way to prevent the spread of infection, any time of the year. This is particularly important during winter months.

According to the Ohio Department of Health, this flu season alone, there have been over 5,400 influenza-related hospitalizations in Ohio. You can take measures to prevent illness at any time of the year by taking the following minimum measures every day:

Confirmed case count is 42; 3 new recoveries

The Kenton Hardin Health Department is reporting 6 new cases over the three-day weekend. This brings our total confirmed case count to 42. We are also reporting 3 new recoveries at this time.

Please continue to follow the guidelines.
Stay home when you are sick.
Avoid contact with people who are sick.

Wash hands often with warm water and soap for at least 20 seconds.
Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water is not available.

Dry hands with a clean towel or air dry your hands.Cover your mouth with a tissue or sleeve when coughing.

Free meal provided by St. Mark Lutheran and Sugar Grove UMC

The congregations of St. Mark Lutheran and Sugar Grove United Methodist are working together to provide a free community mea – Last Wednesday Community Meal –  from 5 to 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 27.

The meal is for carryout only and pickups are available at St. Mark, 125 Johnson St., Ada. Social distancing and safety protocol will be observed. The meal will be served out of St. Mark Lutheran located at 125 S. Johnson St. Ada.

The menu has not yet been determined.
