Thomas E. Dearth was a teacher and served in the Ohio National Guard
Thomas E. Dearth, age 81, of Ada, passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.
He was born to the late Jasper and Aezelda (Robnolte) Dearth on February 21, 1942 in Ada, Ohio. Tom married Janice A. Elwood on May 8, 1965 she survives in Ada.
Tom is also survived by his three daughters: Trudi (Keith) Vermillion of Ada, Tammi (Tim) Fox of Harrod and Amber (Bruce) Clum of Ada; ten grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren; a sister, Esther Penhorwood of Mansfield; and three sisters-in-law: Karen Dearth of Harrod, Jean Ann Dearth of Ada, and Anita Dearth of Ada.
He was preceded in death by his five brothers: Don Dearth, Russell Dearth, Jerry Dearth, Justin “Jud” Dearth and John Dearth; and five sisters: Dorothy Kramer, Eilene Padgett, LaDonna Greer, Janet Gault and Kate Bear.
Tom retired from Ada High School where he was a teacher. He was a former Pastor and member of County Line Church, Harrod. Tom was also a member of the LaFayette Congregational Christian Church. Tom served in the Ohio National Guard.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at County Line Church, 4227 N. Hardin Road, Harrod, Ohio with Pastor Charles Moeller officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada.
Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
