Bulldog girls basketball rallies, wins vs. Vanlue

VANLUE__The visiting Ada High School girls basketball team outscored Vanlue 14-9 in the fourth period to pull off a 53-49 non-conference victory Tuesday night, December 19.
The Bulldog girls snapped a four-game losing streak and improved to 4-5 with the win. The Wildcat girls dropped to 1-6 after the loss.
Ada led 17-12 after the first period and maintained a five-point margin at halftime, 29-24.
Vanlue took a 40-39 lead heading to the fourth quarter following a 16-10 third period. But five Bulldogs scored in the final stanza to help pull out the win.
Ada senior guard Olivia Burkhart poured in a game-high 23 points to lead all players. She scored 13 points in the first half and tallied 10 after halftime.
Junior guard Lexi Poling contributed nine markers. Senior Autumn Andreasen scored seven points, while senior Katie Sizemore and sophomore Anna Conley each tallied six.
Lexi Brooks led Vanlue with 17 points. Adrienne Phillips netted 11 markers.
The Ada girls canned 18 two-point goals and sank one three-pointer. The Bulldogs converted 12 of 18 free throws (67 percent).
The Vanlue girls connected on 16 two-point field goals and also hit just one shot beyond the arc. The Wildcats converted nine of 15 charity stripers (60 percent).
Ada plays at Waynesfield-Goshen (2-4) Thursday night, December 28 as part of a boys and girls doubleheader. W-G lost 75-60 to Wapakoneta Tuesday.
