Marguerite Laverne (Chalfin) Gould was 105 years old
Marguerite Laverne (Chalfin) Gould, died on February 9, 2024 in Durango, Colorado, where she lived the last twenty-eight years of her life. She was 105 years old.
Marguerite was born on April 8, 1918 in Hardin County, Ohio to the late Irvin V. and Vivian (Sutherland) Chalfin. She grew up in Hardin County and graduated from McGuffey High School and completed Davis Business College in Toledo, Ohio.
On August 5, 1940 Marguerite married Charles Edward Gould. They made their home in McGuffey, Ohio and raised two daughters Carol and Jayna. Charles died August 11, 1991 and a few years later she moved to Durango, Colorado to be near her daughter.
She is survived by her two daughters: Carol (Leo) Wehner of Durango, Colorado and Jayna (Mark) Lutz of Missoula, Montana; grandson, Craig Wehner of Aztec, New Mexico; two great grandchildren; and a sister, Donna Hicks of Huron.
Marguerite was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; grandson, Derek; brother, Irvin Jr.
Private graveside services will be held in Preston Cemetery, Alger.
