Ohio Northern senior Grace Honigford (West Chester/Lakota East) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Golfer of the Week for the week of March 12-18.
This marks Honigford's sixth such accolade this season and the 16th of her career.
Honigford won Medalist honors, finishing first of 37 players with an 8-over par 80, to lead the Polar Bears to a victory at the 6-team Heidelberg Snowball's Chance Invitational.
Honigford has now won Medalist honors five times in six tournaments this season.
In her career, Honigford has been Medalist 20 times in 42 career tournaments.
The tournament was played in cold, blustery and snowy conditions, making scoring difficult.
The Polar Bears are now 29-18 with first-place finishes in five of six events. Honigford earned Medalist honors in all five of those victories.
A College Sports Communicators Second Team Academic All-American last season, Honigford boasts a 73.8 stroke average over 11 rounds of play this season.
Northern will travel south this Friday-Sunday for the 54-hole Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational at Indian Mound Golf Club at Jekyll Island, Ga.
