KENTON__Kennedy Jones, a Junior at Ada High School, took second place in her class in girls competition at the 36th Annual Bill McClain State Powerlifting event.
Competing among the best in Divisions 5, 6, and 7 at Kenton High School on Saturday, March 16, Jones secured second place in her class with:
Squat: 330 lbs
Deadlift: 305 lbs
Bench Press: 165 lbs
These scores culminated in a total lift of 800 lbs, for a 60 lb increase from her regional performance. Notably, Jones’ bench press of 165 lbs contributed to her second-place finish and set a new state record, surpassing the prior record held by Bianca Phongphiou of Montpelier High School.
