Larry E. Hattery was active in Alger government and safety services
On April 21, 2024, Larry E. Hattery passed away at Lima Memorial Hospital with his wife by his side.
Larry’s family members and friends have found comfort in his passing knowing that he is now at peace with the Lord. Larry was born to the late Leo and Virginia (Armstrong) Hattery on October 1, 1947. On September 30,1966 Larry and Linda wed, making year 57 for them.
Surviving his death is his wife Linda Hattery, son David (Kelly) Hattery; grandchildren Mason (Logan) Howard, Hunter (Gabrielle) Howard, Trevor and Tyler Hattery and great grandchildren Charlie, Holden and Sophia Howard. Surviving siblings are Linda (Roger) Angles, Jerry (Connie) Hattery, Tim (Shelly) Hattery, Kevin (Bev) Hattery & Rick Hattery. Along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding him in death is his daughter; Misty Howard, his sister Dorleen Dearth and brothers Kenneth Hattery, Tom Hattery, Skip Hattery, Terry Hattery and Steve Hattery. Who are very deeply missed.
Larry loved the Pittsburgh Steelers, hunting for morels, looking for blackberries and attending events for his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He spent many early mornings on his porch drinking coffee with Linda, while watching the squirrels and birds. He was an active community member and would be often found doing anything needed for the Village of Alger. He was also a member of the council, the village police and the fire department for many years.
Larry enjoyed watching The Ohio State Buckeyes, Gunsmoke and spending time mowing the yard. He was very proud of his garden as well as his yard work.
We, as the family of Larry, would like to express our deepest gratitude and appreciation for every single person who has taken the time to get to know Larry over the years. We thank you all for your kind words and prayers as well as supporting our family in our time of need.
Funeral Services will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at McGuffey Church of Christ, 203 Columbus Street, McGuffey, Ohio 45859 with David Holbrook officiating. There will be no graveside services upon Larry’s request. There will be a dinner at McGuffey Church of Christ after the services.
Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service on Saturday, April 27 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the McGuffey Church of Christ, 203 Columbus Street, McGuffey.
