Marian Jean Lyle was a homemaker

 Marian Jean “Jeannie” Lyle, age 86, of rural Alger, went to be with her Lord on May 14, 2024.

She was born in Goshen Township on May 10, 1938 to the late Jacob and Hannah (Born) Sherman. On September 6, 1964 Jeannie married James Lyle and he survives.  

Also surviving are a son, Howard (Cristal) Lyle of Alger; son-in-law, Deering (Jen) Dyer of Uniontown, OH; four grandchildren: Evan Lyle, Matthew Dyer, Faith Dyer and Samuel Dyer; two brothers: Dale Sherman and Jacob (Dorothy) Sherman; and a sister-in-law, Shirley Sherman. 

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jean Annette Lyle Dyer; and eight siblings: Jim Sherman, Carl Sherman, Lester Sherman, Mae Louis Scheiderer, Ralph Sherman, Ida Lou Sherman, Vernon Sherman and RosaNeil Rader. 

Jeannie was a homemaker and loving mother and also helped out on the farm.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and attending her grandkids activities.  She also enjoyed gardening, especially her flowers. Jeannie was a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, where she had lots of friends and was active in the choir and UMW.  She also decorated the church with flowers for many years.  She was a sixty-five-year member of the Grange, and was a previous 4-H advisor.  

Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada with Pastor John Foster and Deering Dyer officiating. Burial will be in McDonald-Fairview Cemetery, Kenton.  

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday.
