Bluffton High School to host 1:00 p.m. Watch Party

UPDATE: Watch party will be held in the Bluffton HS Gym starting at 1:00 p.m. The semi-final is scheduled to take place at 1:35 p.m.
Blufftonite Trevor Bassitt advances to the August 7 semi-finals in the men's 400m hurdles at the 2024 Paris Olympics following a successful run in the first heat of the August 6 Repechage Rounds.
Bassitt ran 48.64 and placed first in his heat.
He will now run in the first of three Semi Final heats on Wednesday at 12:35 p.m. ET. The attached lane assignments show Bassitt with a personal best time of 47.38 and ranking 8th in the world.
#1-ranked Karsten Warholm of Norway and #3-ranked Alison Dos Santos will also run in heat 1 of the semi-finals. The first two in each heat and next two fastest advance to the final.
ABOUT REPECHAGE
This is a “mulligan” round for athletes who would not otherwise advance except those that did not start, did not finish or were disqualified. The first three runners in each heat and next 3 fastest advance to the Semi-Finals, all others advance to the Repechage Round.
