Ada Bulldog volleyball defeats Hornets

RAWSON __ The Ada High School volleyball team defeated Cory-Rawson in four sets at a non-conference road match on Saturday, September 7.
The Bulldogs improved to 4-4 overall this season after the 25-21, 25-14, 18-25, 25-15 win. Ada used a deep and versatile hitting attack to bury the Hornets as four Bulldog hitters recorded at least seven kills.
Winless C-R fell to 0-6 with the defeat.
Junior Anna Conley topped the Ada offense with a dozen kills.
Sophomore setter Jaylin St. Laurent passed out a career-high 33 assists, mustered 18 digs and served a whopping nine aces in her best match so far.
Senior Tess Griffith knocked down nine kills and hustled up 15 digs. Senior Jenna Bassitt mustered up 30 digs.
Sophomore Dailah Preston smacked nine kills and came up with four blocks. Sophomore Brooklyn Andreasen contributed seven kills and had three blocks.
Ada (0-1 BVC) visits league foe Vanlue (6-0, 0-0 BVC) in the Wildcat conference opener Monday night, Sept. 9. The Bulldogs then travel to McComb (1-3, 0-1 BVC) Wednesday evening, Sept. 11.
Ada finishes its four-match road swing at Elmwood (1-7, 0-1 BVC) Sept. 16.
