Dr. Robert W. McCurdy was Assistant Dean of Pharmacy
Dr. Robert W. McCurdy, age 82, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay.
He was born on July 29, 1942 in Akron, Ohio to Robert B. and Louise A. (Hanan) McCurdy who preceded him in death. On August 6, 1966 he married Myrna W. Woodward and she survives in Bluffton.
Bob retired from Ohio Northern University where he was the Assistant Dean of Pharmacy and also served on the Board of Trustees. He was previously a Vice President for Phar-Mor in Youngstown. Bob was a graduate of ONU where he was a member of Sigma Pi fraternity. He was a member of the Ada First United Methodist Church and previously at First United Methodist Church in Pittsburgh, PA. He was a member and past president of the Ada Kiwanis Club. He was on many professional, philanthropic, educational, and church boards.
Also surviving is a son, Dr. Christopher R. (Dana) McCurdy of Gainesville, FL; and a daughter, Elizabeth L. (Dan) Armstrong of Kenosha, WI; three grandchildren and three step-grandchildren; a brother, James R. McCurdy of Napa, CA; a sister, Lyneen (Edward) Campbell of Stokedale, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Dr. Bonnie Avery; brother-in-law, Andy Coles; sister-in-law, Gloria McCurdy; nephew, Brad; and two nieces, Cathy and Debra.
A memorial service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 4, 2024 at Ada First United Methodist Church at 301 North Main Street, Ada, Ohio 45810 with Rev. Brandi Rigsby and Father Dan Millisor officiating. Burial of ashes will be in the Memorial Gardens at First United Methodist Church, Pittsburgh, PA.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 4, 2024 at Ada First United Methodist Church, 301 North Main Street, Ada, Ohio 45810.
