ADA __ The Ada High School boys soccer team was rewarded for its strong regular season by being seeded second at the nine-team Tiffin Div. V sectional drawing Sunday.
Ada (11-4) will host eighth-seeded backyard rival Allen East (1-11-1) in the first round of the sectionals Saturday afternoon, October 19.
“We are excited to host the sectional rounds,” said Ada first-year head coach Aaron Acheson. “Allen East is a good opponent for us to play. We have a lot of respect for them.
“The team is having fun, and they are looking forward to the tournament,” he added.
The Bulldog/Mustang winner will face the Riverdale/Cory-Rawson victor in the semifinals Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 7:15 p.m. in Tiffin.
The third-seeded Falcons are 8-7-1, while ninth seed C-R is 1-16.
The Bulldogs lost at Riverdale 3-2 on Sept. 12. Ada crushed the Hornets 13-0 last week as Logan Jolliff scored nine goals and Nathan Williams passed out six assists, both school records.
“The possibility to play Riverdale in the district semifinals in Tiffin is exciting,” said Acheson.
Number one seed Bluffton (8-7) will host the winner between Huron (4-9-2) and Ashland Crestview (6-7-2) in the quarterfinals Saturday, Oct. 19 at 3 p.m.
Huron is seeded sixth and Crestview fifth. The teams tied 1-1 on Sept. 21.
The winner from that quarter of the draw will face the Old Fort (4-10-1)/Mansfield Christian (7-7-1) survivor in the semifinals. MC is seeded fourth, and OF is seventh.
