Looking for a Christmas gift with an Ada connection?
Here's an idea: how about an Andrew Steingass ceramic mug?
This month the Ohio Northern Art & Design alumni are featured the the department Facebook. Many are entrepreneurs and own their own businesses.
The feature idea suggests that this holiday season consider purchasing a gift from a fellow Polar Bear.
The post continues: "From one-of-a-kind art and illustrations to jewelry, paintings and so much more, we are sure you can find great gifts for the family and friends this holiday season."
The Ada Public Library's annual decorating of gingerbread houses will not take place this year. However, there is an alternate plan. Stop in the library this week to pick up a gingerbread house craft kit and tag the library in your pictures. The Icon will post several of the completed projects.
The Ada police department is making several changes to its policies and procedure manual, according to Michael Harnishfeger, police chief.
The changes are being made in order for the department credentialing by the Ohio Office of Criminal Justice Services (OCJS) and the Ohio Collaborative, as the credentialing body to certify agencies within the state.
Certainly you recognize the Wilson Sporting Goods building. This aerial view is from the 1953 Ada centennial book.
At the time of this photo Wilson's was known as the Ohio-Kentucky Manufacturing Co., manufacturers of leather and rubber athletic goods, as this advertisement states.
