K-3 return five days a week • 4-12 returns in hybrid model

Ada students will return to classroom learning on Monday, Dec. 7, in two different models. Those are explained in this story from the school website.

After several weeks of remote learning, the state, county, and our community are still experiencing a rise in the number of positive Covid cases and quarantines. 

However, we feel that we need to safely get our students back in the building and with their teachers. 

Our experience with contact tracing has shown that each positive student case has resulted in 10-20 quarantines each time. 

A simple, yet profound Christmas message lights up the front lawn of the Ada Presbyterian Church. In the next photo you can view the entire church facade with the Christmas scene on the lawn.

“White Christmas” by Bing Crosby
“White Christmas” is perhaps the most famous Christmas song of all-time. It’s sold more than 100 million copies around the world. It’s a can’t miss tune for anyone celebrating the holiday season. 

Written in 1942, it’s still a perfect tune for those who can’t get back home for the holidays this year. That includes this reviewer in 2020.

 Mark A. Daniels, 58, went home to be with his wife, Teresa, on Dec. 1, 2020, at 9:32 a.m. at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine, Ohio.

He was born on Dec. 28, 1961, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Rev. John and Thelma (Punches) Daniels, Sr. On Aug. 21, 1982, he married Teresa E. Overs and she preceded him in death on Aug. 20, 2018.

Mark worked as finish carpenter and contractor.

ADA - The Ada varsity wrestling program enters its second season under head coach David Ames featuring some seasoned grapplers ready to make a run to districts and beyond.

Six of the nine matmen on the roster are returning lettermen, with three promising freshmen boasting plenty of youth wrestling experience. 

One returning wrestler won a match at the district level last season, while another qualified as an alternate at districts.

Three seniors, one junior and two sophomores complete the roster.

The squad has basic goals for the season with the pandemic affecting everything on a day-by-day basis.

Originally set for Friday evening, now takes place Dec. 8-11, noon to 5 p.m.

The Dec. 4 children's shopping event at Beatitudes, 210 N. Main St., format has changed for covid-19 safety precautions, according to Deb Curlis, store manager.

Instead of the originally-planned one-night event, Curlis says that parents may bring their youngsters to the store anytime Tuesday through Friday, Dec. 8-11, for kid's shopping.

Store hours are noon to 5 p.m.  A treat bag will be given to each child shopping.  For more information call Curlis at 419-788-9459.
