Carolyn Sue Coe, age 76, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 25, 2020, at 1:18 p.m. at Lima Memorial Health System, Lima, surrounded by her family.

She was born on March 2, 1944, in Lima to James and Anna (Shrider) Ramsdell. Her father preceded her in death and her mother survives in Lima.

Carolyn was a secretary for Lima Memorial Health System. Carolyn was a lifelong traveler, artist, friend, daughter, mother and grandmother. She loved the California desert and lived in Palm Springs for many years before returning to the Lima area when her health declined several years ago.

While in California, Carolyn was President Reagan’s EKG tech in the 1980s.

Volunteer organization encourages students from grades K to 12

Ada Academic Boosters launched its 2020-21 membership drive this week.

The volunteer organization recognizes and encourages academic achievement in grades K through 12 in the Ada schools.

This year’s drive seeks monetary donations and volunteers. A member form is attached at the bottom of this story.

Several membership levels are available:
• Family membership $10
• Purple level $25
• Gold level $50
• Lamp of Knowledge level $100
• Academic excellence $250

Ada Adventure, Rotary chicken barbecue, Lincoln Highway garage sale

Three August events have Ada written all over them.

• On Thursday, Aug. 6, Ohio Northern University hosts a new program "Ada Adventure" as a part of its Welcome Weekend with new students. 

Throughout the day (from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.) students will walk throughout the downtown area in small groups to explore the village. Ohio Northern University is hoping to point out all of the businesses and opportunities for the new students. 

FROM BLUFFTON ICON - After extensive deliberations, the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Council of Presidents has unanimously voted to modify the timing of conference competition and championships for fall sports classified by the NCAA as high contact risk (football, men’s and women’s soccer, women’s volleyball).

The congregations of St. Mark Lutheran and Sugar Grove United Methodist are working together to provide a free community meal – Last Wednesday Community Meal –  from 5 to 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 29.

The meal is for carryout only and pickups are available at St. Mark, 125 Johnson St., Ada. Social distancing and safety protocol will be observed. The meal will be served for carry-out only at St. Mark Lutheran located at 125 S. Johnson St. Ada.

The menu includes hot dogs or hamburgers, chips, carrots and celery sticks, fruit and a cookie.
