Obituary for Eurella Georgianna Scott
Eurella Georgianna Scott, age 98, of Alger, passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.
She was born in Harrod, Ohio on November 9, 1925, to the late Daniel and Idora (Christopher) Rex. On February 14, 1946, Eurella married Melvin L. “Sam” Scott and he preceded in death on May 8, 2005.
Eurella is survived by her three children: Paula K. Gieseler of Alger, Stephen P. (Judith) Scott of Alger and Pamela J. (Gary) Vest of Powell; nine grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and five step grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, William Gieseler; and three brothers and two sisters.
Eurella loved the Lord and she was a member of the former Pilgrim Holiness Church, Alger. She was a true Proverbs 31 wife and matriarch and led a life dedicated to service, church and family. Eurella was a champion baker and crafter, spunky and full of personality.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 21, 2024 at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Alger. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.
Visitation will begin at 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 20, 2024 at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Alger and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
