2025 Hardin County dog tags go on sale December 1
$20 license required for all dogs over 3 months of age
The Hardin County Dog Warden has issued the notice below regarding dog tag requirements and sales. Sales include the following Ada area locations:
- Ada Animal Hospital, 4736 SR 235, Ada
- Middlefield Bank, 118 S Main, Ada
- Online at www.doglicenses.us/OH/Hardin/

NOTICE TO ALL DOG OWNERS
THE 2025 DOG TAGS WILL BE SOLD STARTING DECEMBER 1, 2024.
Every dog three months of age and older must have a dog license.
If such application for registration is not filed and said fee paid on or before January 31, 2025, the County Auditor shall assess a penalty of $20.00 on a dog license and $100.00 on a kennel license.
Anyone found harboring an unlicensed dog after the 31st of January shall be cited into court.
After January 31, 2025 officers will be visiting door to door checking to be sure all dogs are registered and tagged. The fine for harboring an unlicensed dog cannot be less than $25.00 but no more than $150.00 on a first offense. On each subsequent offense the fine shall not be less than $75.00, but no more than $250.00 and imprisonment for not more than 30 days, plus court costs on each offense.
Please remember that should your dog become lost, its license tag could be its ticket home.

Tags may also be purchased at the Hardin County Auditor's Office and the Hardin County Dog Shelter. The fee for a 2025 tag is $20.00 and the fee for a kennel license is $100.00. Certain requirements must be met in order to purchase a kennel license, and they may only be purchased at the Hardin County Dog Shelter.
