Senior Amy Elmer has been named Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Diver of the Week for the week of Jan. 7-13.
On Friday, Elmer won two events to lead the Ohio Northern women's swimming & diving team to a 125-112 victory over Oberlin at the ONU Sports Center.
Elmer swept the 1- and 3-meter diving events with scores of 195.70 and 240.45, respectively.
On Saturday, Elmer won the 1-meter diving with a career-best 418 points in the 11-dive format. Her point total also qualifies her for the NCAA III Regionals in the event.
Junior Christian Garlock has been named Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week for the week of Jan. 7-13.
On Friday, Garlock won the 50 free in :22.70 and won the 200 breast in 2:18.75 to lead No. 17-ranked Ohio Northern to a 160-81 victory over Oberlin at the ONU Sports Center.
Northern swept the freestyle events, led by Garlock's win in the 50 free.
On Saturday, Garlock swept the freestyle sprint events to lead the Ohio Northern to a 150-91 victory at Mount Union. Garlock won the 50 free in :22.16 and touched first in the 100 free in :48.25.

Ada High School will hold two meeting of interest to students looking towards pursuing additional education, both during and beyond high school. Both meetings will be held in the cafeteria.
Post Secondary Enrollment Options/Credit Flexibility Meeting
January 23, 6:00 p.m.
Students and parents are invited to attend the meeting to learn about the Post Secondary Enrollment Options program mandated by Senate Bill 140.
Ada hometown girl, ONU pharmacy student and Miss Ohio Elissa McCracken did not take home the crown in the Miss America pageant on Sunday. The winner was Mallory Hytes Hagan, Miss New York.
Elissa will continue her pursuit of her doctoral degree in Pharmacy at ONU and still has duties as Miss Ohio.

For the second year running, 'Mason' was the most popular name for Blanchard Valley Hospital (Bluffton campus) born boys. Of the over 200 names provided to the Icon by BVH, Bluffton OB Department, 'Mason' appeared four times, more than any other name, boy or girl.
