BOWLING GREEN – The Ada High School swim teams competed in the 40-team Northwest Ohio Classic Invitational meet at Bowling Green on December 21.
“The swimmers all dropped time, which is great after having to be up and on the bus by 5:45 a.m., and not getting done until almost 7 p.m.,” said Bulldog head coach Ashley Robey.
“It was a long day,” she continued. “But everyone did very well given the circumstances. It gave them the experience of a highly-competitive meet prior to championships.”
Senior Lily Baumgartner finished second in the 100-yard backstroke preliminary heats early Saturday in 58.51.
In the A finals Friday evening, she touched third in the 100 back with a time of 57.03. Bowling Green junior Mia Buff captured first in 55.42.
Baumgartner also came in second in the 200 individual medley prelims with a time of 2:12.56. In the 200 IM A finals race Friday night, she again swam to second place (2:10.29).

Szippl ultimately placed 31st in the 100 backstroke.
He also touched 45th in a big field of 134 boys in the 50 freestyle prelims (25:31).
