The individual caught a crappie with the cast net and harvested the fish. Officer Farley contacted the individual and issued a misdemeanor summons for possessing a sport fish by means other than angling. The suspect paid $150 in fines and court costs.
State Wildlife Officer Eric VonAlmen, assigned to Wood County, received a call from a contractor that found a white-tailed deer trapped in the open basement of a house that was under construction. Officer VonAlmen and State Wildlife Officer Matt R. Smith, assigned to Henry County, responded. Officer VonAlmen safely captured the deer, but when Officer Smith released the deer, it jumped back into the basement.
