MEDIA RELEASE__The Hardin County Master Gardener Volunteers will host their annual Spring Seminar on March 12, 2026, with the theme, Loves Me, Loves Me Not. The program will take place at Memorial Park Golf Club located at 15906 State Route 309, Kenton, OH 43326. Registration opens at 8:30 a.m. and the program will run from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30  p.m. . The registration deadline is March 5, and the class size is limited. The cost to attend is $50.00 for the general public and $40.00 for OSU Master Gardener Volunteers. The cost includes a continental breakfast, lunch, session materials, and door prizes.

MEDIA RELEASE__Ohio has selected nine public safety agencies to participate in the Ohio Statewide Drone First Responder (DFR) Pilot Program, a first-of-its-kind initiative designed to expand rapid aerial response capabilities across communities of all sizes. The Lima Police Department is among the agencies selected.

MEDIA RELEASE__Apollo Career Center is proud to host the 2026 SkillsUSA Ohio Northwest Regional Competitions on Friday, February 13, 2026, from 11:00 a.m.-2:30  p.m. 

The Apollo campus will welcome approximately 500 students representing 20 career-technical education centers and comprehensive high schools from across Northwest Ohio. A total of 33 skilled competitions will take place throughout the day, showcasing students’ talents in technical, leadership, and employability skill areas.

Hardin County community partners are hosting a Resource Fair on April 1 from 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. at the Hardin County Armory, 128 N. Main St., Kenton. This event provides an introduction to community resources for everyone in Hardin County. There will be a free lunch catered by Moore Than Just BBQ as well as giveaways from partner agencies.

Multiple fire departments responded to blaze in downtown Ada, February 2

ADA__The Ada High School girls basketball team was seeded fifth in the seven-team Div. VI Northwest 5 district in drawings held on Sunday, February 8.

The Bulldog girls (11-10) will play at third-seeded backyard rival Allen East (11-9) in the first round of tournament play on Thursday, Feb. 19 at 6 p.m. in Harrod.

Separated by about nine miles, the two former long-time league foes have not played in the last two regular seasons after Ada left the Northwest Conference to join the Blanchard Valley Conference.
