MEDIA RELEASE__Every four years Area Agency on Aging 3 conducts a Needs Assessment Survey to help gather data to form the Strategic Plan that will be a blueprint for operations for the future.
The Needs Assessment Survey is given to individuals enrolled in the agency’s programs, providers and community members. The survey is distributed throughout the 7-county service area of Area Agency on Aging 3, including Allen Auglaize, Hancock, Hardin, Mercer, Putnam and Van Wert counties. The Strategic Plan is a document that will help drive the services, supports and resources for the aging population in those seven counties.
MEDIA RLEASE__At approximately 6:48 a.m. on Thursday, March 26, the Hancock County Sheriff's Office responded to a two-vehicle, head-on injury crash in the 21000 block of State Route 235 in Orange Township.
Preliminary investigation indicates that a 2009 black Mitsubishi, driven by Caiden Helms, was traveling southbound on State Route 235 when it crossed the center line and struck a northbound 2023 Cadillac, driven by Kathy Elsass, head-on.
Following the collision, Kathy Elsass's vehicle caught fire, and she was initially trapped inside. She was pulled from the vehicle by a passing good Samaritan before it became fully engulfed in flames.
ADA__The Ada High School softball team opened its season with a 16-2 run-rule shellacking of visiting Lima Senior on a sunny Wednesday evening, March 25.
The Bulldog girls lost five key starters to graduation off their 2025 regional finalist squad, but they have several key returnees and some promising freshmen ready to step in and fill the void.
Ada scored four runs in the first inning, then exploded with nine in the second frame as they cruised to a five-inning victory.

Special congratulations to our award winners: Anna Conley – 2nd Place in Ceramics, Kaylie Klear – 2nd Place in Sculpture, Katie Riblet – 2nd Place in Printmaking. Kaylie Klear, Alyssa Madison, and Anna Riblet each had two pieces accepted into the show. We are so proud of all our student artists for representing Ada with excellence. The exhibit is at ArtSpace/Lima, 65 Town Square.
The sooner, the better is an idiom indicating that speedy or early action is ideal for certain situations. The idiom can be traced back to the 15th century and is a relic of Old English. The saying indicates an urgent request.
Style and community spirit were on full display at the Beatitudes spring fashion show on Monday evening, March 23. Students from Ohio Northern’s Student Senate and Greek Life partnered with Beatitudes community center and thrift store for an evening of fashion and fun.
This was the second time the organizations have come together to host a thrift-based fashion show and the first time it will benefit outreach work at the Beatitudes nonprofit community center, 210 N. Main St.
