Bulldog swimmers 3rd at 6-team meet
Baumgartner breaks school mark in 200 free

OTTAWA- The Ada High School swim teams finished a solid third at a six-team meet in the Putnam County YMCA at Ottawa Thursday, January 23.
Bulldog senior Lily Baumgartner broke the school record in winning the 200 freestyle. The mark of 2:01.34 was previously held by Klava Katayama. Lily swam 2:00.81 to break the record by .53.
Baumgartner also won the girls 100 breaststroke race by an easy margin of 7.14 seconds.
Margaretta swept to first place in all three team categories. They won the combined team title, and captured first in both the boys and girls standings.
The balanced victors scored 211 combined points, including 106 boys and 105 girls points.
Bluffton finished second in all three standings, while Ada was third in all three. The Pirates scored 125 combined points, with 71 by the Pirate girls and 54 by the boys.
Ada tallied 82 points - 44 by the girls and 38 by the Bulldog boys.
“Everyone did really well and is staying consistent with their times,” said Ada head coach Ashley Robey.
Sophomore Tim Chrissobolis touched first in the 100 breaststroke and was second in the 100 butterfly to post the top Ada boys finishes.
Bulldog soph Jacob Szippl took second in the 100 backstroke.
Junior Lydia Demascio touched third in the 100 backstroke.
Ada swims at Upper Sandusky Saturday at 10 a.m. The Bulldogs have a dual meet at county rival Kenton Tuesday evening, January 28 at the Hardin County YMCA.
